Fielden Rye Whisky (70cl, 48%)

Fielden Rye is an English rye whisky distilled by Adnams in Suffolk. The recipes use at least 51% rye alongside wheat and barley, and the whisky is matured in American oak casks and in casks that previously held light, sweet wines. The wine influence stays restrained so the grain remains in front. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour. A buttery note runs through the fruit, pastry and spice. The nose is floral, with fruit that recalls wild berries. The palate brings flaky pastry, caramel, hazelnut and freshly baked bread, and the finish is fresh and grainy, with mint and pepper.
