Filey Bay STR Finish Batch 3 is the third edition of this English single malt, bottled at 46%. It has been finished in STR casks, meaning the wood is shaved, toasted and then recharred.
Fresh red fruit, caramelised vanilla and soft spice come through on the nose. The palate is silky, with ripe cherries, buttery caramel and grilled oak, plus delicate hints of chocolate and spice. The finish is lasting and balanced, setting woody notes against the fruitiness.
