Findlater's Royal Prestige Rare Old (70cl, 43%)

A Scotch whisky from Findlater's, bottled at 43% in a 70cl red ceramic bottle. The label reads Royal Prestige Rare Old, and the whisky was bottled by Findlater Mackie Todd & Co Ltd. The nose is rich and dark, with figs, raisins, polished oak, toffee, orange peel, cocoa and vanilla, and a light touch of spice. The palate is silky and velvety, led by sherried fruit such as raisins and plums, with toffee, dark chocolate and toasted almonds, then a little clove and cinnamon. The finish is very long, with nutty sherry, a coffee-like bitterness and a lingering leather note.
