Finger Lakes McKenzie Bourbon is a New York State bourbon, double-pot distilled at Finger Lakes Distilling on the shore of Seneca Lake and bottled at 45.5%. The mashbill is built on 70% locally grown corn, with rye.
It is aged in new charred American oak quarter casks, then finished in chardonnay barrels from nearby wineries, which give it a buttery, rounded texture.
Orange peel, honey and vanilla open the nose. Brown sugar, cinnamon, orange custard and caramel lead the palate, with cardamom and toasted oak. The finish is medium, with cinnamon bread and gentle oak tannins.
