McKenzie Straight Rye Whiskey

McKenzie Straight Rye is an American rye whiskey from Finger Lakes Distilling, made from local rye grain and distilled using old-time techniques. It is aged in new charred oak casks and then finished in sherry barrels sourced from nearby wineries. The sherry is there to temper the spiciness of the rye and to acknowledge the wine region where the whiskey is made. On the palate it is typically described as showing orange peel, cardamom, mint and butterscotch.
