Finglassie 9 Year Old 2017 Tokaji Wine Barrique Finish – A.D. Rattray Cask Collection

Finglassie is the heavily peated single malt of the InchDairnie distillery in Fife, and this nine-year-old, distilled in 2017, is a single-cask bottling in A.D. Rattray's Cask Collection. The malt is peated to around 50ppm. The whisky spent more than six years in a bourbon barrel, followed by a finish of over 35 months in a Tokaji wine barrique that had held Hungarian sweet white wine. Cask 10 produced 206 bottles. The aroma is described as oily peat smoke with maritime, coastal notes and fresh citrus, alongside honeyed apricot from the Tokaji cask.
