Florio Marsala Vecchio Florio Superiore Secco (75cl)

Vecchio Florio Superiore is a dry Marsala from Cantine Florio, a Sicilian house founded in Marsala in 1833. It is a fortified wine, sold in a 75cl bottle. It matures for almost three years in oak barrels and vats of different sizes, six months longer than the appellation rules require, and then rests for at least three months in bottle. The taste is warm and full, with an elegant background of bitter almonds, vanilla and raisins. It suits medium-aged cheeses, toasted almonds and bottarga, and also works as a dessert wine with sweets and dried fruit.
