For Peat's Sake Peated Blended Scotch Whisky (35cl, 40%)

For Peat's Sake is a peated blended Scotch whisky from Angus Dundee Distillers, bottled at 40% in a 35cl bottle. Peated and unpeated Scotch whiskies matured in selected oak casks are married together. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The name refers to a maltster character called Peat. In the story on the back label he shovels too much peat into the kiln and wraps the distillery in smoke. Peat leads on the nose, with charred oak, vanilla, oat biscuits, sultanas and fresh citrus. The palate sets toffee with dark sugar syrup, smoked bacon and maple syrup against cedar spice. The finish is soft, with sweet raisins and roasted pecans, then a long, sooty, smoky close.
