For Peat's Sake Peated Blended Scotch Whisky (70cl, 40%)

For Peat's Sake is a peated blended Scotch whisky bottled by Angus Dundee, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. It combines peated and unpeated Scotch whiskies matured in selected oak casks, and is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour. The name nods to a story about a maltster called Peat, who shovels too much peat into the kiln and fills the distillery with smoke. The tale is printed on the back label. On the nose, peat leads, with charred oak, vanilla, oat biscuits, sultanas and fresh citrus. The palate pairs sweetness and smoke with dark treacle toffee, smoked pancetta, maple syrup and cedar spice. The finish starts sweet with raisins and toasted pecans, then sooty smoke lingers.
