Formosa Single Malt 12 Year Old is a Taiwanese single malt from Formosa Distillery, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It is made from malted barley grown in Taiwan and aged for twelve years in carefully selected oak casks.
Taiwan's subtropical climate speeds up maturation, which is why twelve years in the cask brings a good deal of depth.
The nose is fragrant, with dried mango, honeycomb, vanilla bean and toasted almonds. The palate is rich and layered, with tropical fruit, dark chocolate, spiced oak and hints of black tea. The finish is long, warming and smooth, with sweet malt and lingering spice.
