Formosa Single Malt 5 Year Old is a Taiwanese single malt from Formosa Distillery. The malted barley is Taiwanese too, grown in the Daya district, a suburb of Taichung City.
The nose brings peel oil, clementine segments, allspice and walnut, close to marmalade with a dusting of white pepper. On the palate come shortbread, coconut macaroons, vanilla, orange and tangy mixed peel, ending with a spicy finish. It is suggested as a gentle aperitif that reveals itself unhurriedly.
