Forty Creek Confederation Oak Reserve is a Canadian whisky made to mark Canada's 1867 Confederation. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky is finished for up to two years in new Canadian oak barrels, which have a tighter grain because of the colder climate. It is the colour of old gold.
The nose moves from maple, raisin, vanilla and fig to praline, banana, butter cream, honeyed nuts and orange blossom. The palate is full-bodied, with vanilla, butter cream and pepper spice framed by oak, walnut and smoke. The finish is long, with fading spice, white pepper, dried dark fruits and anise.
