Four Roses – Small Batch Bourbon (70cl, 45%)

Four Roses Small Batch is a straight bourbon bottled at 45%, in a 70cl bottle. It is a blend of four of the distillery's ten recipes: OBSK, OESK, OBSO and OESO. These draw on two mashbills, one with 75% corn and 20% rye, the other with 60% corn and 35% rye, and different yeast strains. The barrels are typically six and seven years old, with nothing younger than six, and they are aged in single-storey rickhouses in barrels given a 45 second char. The nose is oak, citrus fruit and a hint of spice over caramel. The palate is creamy, with oak, summer fruit, cherries, caramel and rye spice.
