Four Roses – Small Batch Bourbon (70cl, 45%)

This is a Kentucky bourbon from the Four Roses distillery in Lawrenceburg, bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery works with two mash bills and five yeast strains, which give ten bourbon recipes, and four of them are hand-selected and married for this bottling. Barrels are typically drawn at six to seven years and matured at Cox's Creek in single-storey warehouses. The nose is winter spice, honey, buttered toast and cut flowers. The palate brings manuka honey, toasty oak, custard and thick fruit. The finish is of good length, with the custard note returning.
