Frank August Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled in Bardstown at 50% ABV (100 proof), without chill filtration. Each batch blends 10 to 15 hand selected barrels from an undisclosed Kentucky distillery.
The brand was founded by Johnathan Crocker, formerly of the fashion brands AG Jeans and BLDWN. The minimalist decanter-style bottle has a heavy metal stopper and a peelable back label, so it can be reused once empty.
The nose is green apple and citrus with caramel, vanilla, sherry and baking spice. The palate brings pear, sweet apple and nutmeg, and the finish is warming rye spice with raisin and seasoned oak.
