Furthur 5 Year Old is a straight bourbon made from MGP whisky, bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). It matured for five years in 53-gallon new American oak with a level 4 char.
The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% barley.
The name comes from a 1939 school bus bought by Ken with the earnings from his novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. In 1964 he and his Merry Pranksters painted it in Day-Glo colours and filmed its trip across the USA.
