George Dickel No. 8 Tennessee Sour Mash Whisky (75cl, 40%)

George Dickel No. 8 is a Tennessee sour mash whisky made at Cascade Hollow Distillery in Tullahoma, bottled at 40% (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The red numeral 8 on the label marks the No. 8 presentation, which is now sold as Classic Recipe. Before it goes into the barrel, the new spirit is chilled and then filtered through sugar maple charcoal, a step known as the Lincoln County Process. Dickel spells whisky without the E, following the Scottish convention. It is described as having light caramel and soft oak on the nose, warm vanilla on a mellow palate, and a clean, short to medium finish.
