George Dickel Reserve is a 17 year old Tennessee whisky from Cascade Hollow in Tullahoma, bottled at cask strength, 46% ABV, in a 750ml bottle.
It first appeared in 2016 as a 375ml release. This 750ml bottling returns with barrels selected by General Manager and Distiller Nicole Austin to echo the original. The mashbill is 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley, and the spirit is mellowed through sugar maple charcoal before it goes into wood.
The nose brings crème brûlée, baked apricot and plum over cinnamon, nutmeg and caramel. Honey, toffee and vanilla open the palate, with a touch of tropical fruit. The finish is long and peppery, with charred oak, cedar and black tea tannin.
