Glasgow 1770 Peated Release No. 1 is a peated single malt made from Highland barley peated to 50 PPM, with water from Loch Katrine. It was distilled in the copper pot stills Tara and Mhairi, matured in first-fill ex-sherry casks and finished in virgin oak. The 1770 range is always non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose is smoky and sweet, with dried fruit, flamed orange peel and caramel sweets. The palate is spicy and sweet, with oranges, toffee, earthy peat smoke, vanilla and dark fruit. The finish is long and nutty, with buttery vanilla and spicy peat smoke.
