Release No 1 is the first bottling from the Glasgow Distillery Company under its 1770 single malt brand, which was launched in 2018. It was bottled that year in a 50cl bottle, in a release of 5000 bottles.
The whisky was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and then finished in virgin oak. The distillery opened in the west of the city in 2013, the first new distillery in Glasgow for over 100 years, and was founded by Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall.
