Glasgow – 1770 The Original Cask Strength Batch 1

This is the first batch of Glasgow 1770 The Original, a cask strength single malt from the Glasgow Distillery in the Lowlands. It matured first in first fill ex-bourbon casks and then in virgin oak. The batch comprises 750 bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered and free of artificial colouring. The nose shows ripe blackberries, mango and green apple with orange marmalade and a hint of grapes. The palate offers spiced pear, toffee apple, marzipan, vanilla and malted biscuit sweetness, with dark chocolate and a touch of aniseed. The finish is long and smooth, with oak spice and lingering fruit.
