Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled Smooth (70cl, 46%)

Triple Distilled Smooth is an unpeated Lowland single malt from the Glasgow Distillery Company, sold under its Glasgow 1770 name. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, in natural colour and without chill filtration. The spirit is made from unpeated malted barley and distilled three times. It matures mainly in first-fill and refill ex-bourbon casks, with a further 4 to 8% of the cask recipe in new American white oak. The three parts are married before bottling. The nose offers sweet vanilla and white chocolate, then apple, pear and ripe peach. The palate is soft and balanced, with vanilla, caramel and double cream, juicy orchard fruit and berries, then blossom and sweet almonds. The finish is long, with honey, aniseed, black pepper and warming wood spice.
