A seven-year-old single malt from Glasgow Distillery, made from peated barley and bottled at cask strength, 58.7% ABV. It was distilled on 15 March 2018 and finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, cask 1079, chosen by Best Dram.
The peat smoke is set against dark fruit, chocolate and oak spice from the sherry wood.
The nose is cool mint and sweet vanilla with light peat smoke and ripe blackberries. On the palate the smoke grows stronger, alongside blackberry sweetness, dark chocolate and a little cocoa. The finish is long, dry and smoky, with bitter cocoa.
