Glen Breton 10 Year Old is a Canadian single malt from Glenora Distillery on Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, bottled at 43% without chill-filtering or added colour. It is made from 100% malted barley and double-distilled in copper pot stills.
The whisky spent nearly ten years in ex-bourbon barrels, then four months in barrels that had held Nova Scotia ice wine.
The nose offers honey, apricot and white grape over vanilla and malt. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with malt, honey and oak spice and a distinct winey sweetness. The finish is clean and gently fruity, with the ice wine character lingering longest.
