Glen Breton 12 Year Old is a Canadian single malt from Glenora Distillery in Glenville, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky spends twelve years in ex-bourbon barrels, then four months in Nova Scotia ice wine barrels. That finish is the distinctive step, adding honeyed stone fruit and a winey lift.
The nose is honeyed and winey, with apricot, peach and ice wine sweetness over malt and vanilla. On the palate, oak, vanilla and malt come first, followed by stone fruit and honey. The finish is long and gently sweet, with the wine barrel character lingering.
