A 19 year old Canadian single malt from Glenora Distillery on Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It is made from 100% malted barley, double-distilled in copper pot stills, and matured for the full 19 years in ex-bourbon barrels. It was named Best North American Single Malt Whisky, with a Platinum Medal, at the 2023 LA Spirits Awards.
The nose offers orange zest, pine and honey brine with subtle smoke. The palate is richly oaked, with pepper and cedar, then lemon zest, hazelnut and maple. The finish is long, with warming oak spice and a gentle smoky tail.
