This is a ten-year-old Speyside single malt from Glen Elgin, selected by the independent bottler Duncan Taylor for its Octave series. It was distilled in 2015, finished in Oloroso sherry and bottled at 53.4% ABV to mark the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. The single cask gave 74 bottles. Glen Elgin stands near Elgin and was founded in 1898 by William Simpson and James Carle. It now belongs to Diageo and supplies much of its output to blends such as White Horse. The distillery works with six stills and traditional worm tubs.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
