Glen Elgin 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt and the only official distillery bottling from Glen Elgin. The distillery was founded in 1898 and works with six stills and six wooden worm tubs, making a fruity spirit that is popular with blenders.
Fruit runs through this 12 year old, alongside buttery vanilla and sweet spices.
The nose offers cereal sweetness with rum spice, a little espresso, toffee apple and ginger. The palate is soft and malty, with salty butter, Corinth raisins, walnut loaf and coffee ice cream. The finish is long and malt-driven, with sugary porridge at the end.
