Glen Elgin 11 Year Old 2011/2022 Sauternes Finish - The Caskhound (56.7%)

This is an 11 year old Glen Elgin single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2022 by The Caskhound at 56.7% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and only 337 bottles were filled. After its main maturation the whisky spent nine months in a first-fill Sauternes barrique, a finish meant to round out the fruity character of the distillery. Citrus fruits, vanilla crescent biscuits and floral notes lead on the nose. The palate brings ripe apricot, honey sweetness, pastry, spice and burnt almonds.
