This Glen Elgin single malt was distilled in 2008 and aged for more than 13 years in a single hogshead. That one cask yielded 260 bottles, which are bottled at 56.5% ABV in a 70cl size.
The nose combines pear drops, waxy apple skins, paraffin candles, cinnamon sticks and crème brûlée, together suggesting apple strudel dusted with icing sugar. The palate is creamy and tropical, with juicy pineapple and strawberry alongside freshly baked apple pie and rich vanilla. The finish is juicy and creamy, light to medium in length.
