A single cask Glen Elgin from Speyside, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society at 14 years old from the 2007 vintage. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 56.7% ABV, and the outturn is 246 bottles. The whisky spent 12 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead before being moved into a second fill charred red wine barrique. The nose is brown sugar, molasses, ground coffee, toffee and balsamic vinegar, with a rum and raisin character running through it. On the palate there are juicy sweet wine gums and banana date cake with a walnut and honey glaze. With water it turns towards eucalyptus-laced sangria.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
