This is a 16 year old single cask Glen Elgin from Speyside, distilled on 16 September 2009 and bottled by Signatory Vintage on 15 July 2026. It was finished in a first fill Amarone hogshead, cask number 11, and bottled at 53.5% ABV without chill filtration or added colour. Glen Elgin has made whisky since 1898, and long fermentations are said to bring out fruit and honey in the spirit. The Italian wine cask adds a slightly dry depth. Tasting notes describe dark cherries, plums and blackberries, with honey and vanilla for sweetness and a little cinnamon and oak spice. Dark fruit, cocoa and fine spice run through the whole.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
