A 40-year-old single cask Glen Elgin from Speyside, distilled in 1969 and bottled in 2010 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Private Collection. It came from a single first fill sherry hogshead and was bottled at its natural strength of 40.4% in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 50 bottles. The whisky is very dark in colour. It is sweet, with a velvety texture and a resinous sherried character, alongside spices, tobacco leaf, boiled sweets and a delicate smokiness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
