Moscatel hogshead finish
This Glen Elgin was distilled in 2007 and finished its 18 years of maturation in a Moscatel hogshead. Berry Bros & Rudd bottled it in 2025 at a cask strength of 57.4%, as a single cask of 162 bottles in its Crafted in Cask series. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Glen Elgin's fruity but weighty character, shaped by worm tub condensers, meets the influence of the Moscatel cask, with coastal smoke and sweet peat embers as a counterpoint. The nose offers crisp green apple, dates, warm brown sugar and bitter orange marmalade. On the palate come golden sultanas, caramelised nuts and nutmeg-spiced stone fruit in a silky, honeyed texture. The long finish leaves dried fruit and nutmeg, ending on sweet cherries.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
