Glen Elgin – 2013 13 Year Old Little Brown Dog (56.2%)

This is a 13 year old Glen Elgin bottled by Little Brown Dog at 56.2% ABV. It was distilled on 6 March 2013 and bottled on 22 July 2026, with 265 bottles filled. The whisky matured in a single refill Pineau des Charentes barrique, a less common cask type. The label shows meadows and a grasshopper, recalling a teenage summer in the Charentes region of France spent catching grasshoppers around the vineyards. The nose brings blackcurrant sweets, white tea and apricot jam. On the palate there are Madeira cake, grenadine and cognac, and the finish carries candied ginger, a little tamarind and fresh rocket.
