This is a nine-year-old Glen Elgin single malt, distilled on 27 January 2016 and bottled in spring 2025. It comes from Claxton's Warehouse No. 8 series, with only 71 bottles filled.
The whisky matured in a fresh brandy octave, a small cask that gives the spirit a good deal of contact with the wood.
The nose offers marzipan, rum and raisins, with a touch of Madeira and cloves. On the palate come ginger biscuits and malt, gentle spice and red fruit. The finish is sweet and soft, with more wine notes and plenty of fruit lingering.
