This is a 29 year old Glen Elgin single malt from the 1992 vintage, matured in a bourbon cask in Speyside. Only 145 bottles were produced, at a natural cask strength of 55.8%, and the whisky is not chill-filtered. Glen Elgin dates from 1898 and works with six stills and six wooden worm tubs. The nose combines vanilla, honey, caramel and orange blossom. The palate is soft and fruity with a silky texture, a malty base, pears, sour plums and caramelised sugar, plus a hint of mint and a faint touch of aniseed. The finish brings waxed apples, tobacco pouch and lingering sherbet.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
