This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Glen Elgin, bottled by Cadenhead's as part of its Original Collection. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The whisky matured in casks with a Palo Cortado sherry influence, a style of sherry that sits between Amontillado and Oloroso.
The nose offers dried fruit, orange peel, almond, light spices and a soft sherry note. On the palate it is balanced, with malty sweetness, nuts, dried apple, gentle spice and a dry, oxidative sherry character. The finish is medium to long, slightly dry and elegant.
