Glen Garioch – 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 48%)

Glen Garioch 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from a distillery founded in 1797. It is bottled at 48% vol. in a 70cl bottle without chill-filtration. The twelve years of maturation are split between American ex-bourbon casks and Spanish sherry casks, the first adding vanilla, honey and oak spice, the second raisins, nuts and dark fruit. The nose combines heather honey, dried apple and ripe pear with mocha and oak spice. On the palate it is creamy and full, with stewed plums, crème brûlée, caramelly malt, sherry notes and a peppery edge. The finish is long and warm.
