Glen Garioch – Renaissance 17 Year Old (50.8%)

This 17 year old Glen Garioch is the third chapter of the distillery's Renaissance Series, bottled at 50.8% ABV. It was first released through selected whisky shops and the distillery visitor centre. The whisky is matured in a mix of sherry casks and former Bourbon casks, giving a warm, well-aged dram in which spirit and cask are in good balance. Tasting notes mention Seville orange marmalade, dried apricots in syrup, burnt sugar, vanilla fudge, honey on buttered toast, milk chocolate and cinnamon, in a spicy Highland style.
