Glen Mhor – 1982 (Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection) (70cl, 50.8%)

This is a Glen Mhor single malt from the Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection, a range of aged malts personally selected by members of the Urquhart family. It is bottled at 50.8% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was distilled in 1982 and matured in a refill Sherry hogshead until it was bottled in 2022. The nose is rich with sherry, toasted hazelnuts and subtle milk chocolate, with Morello cherry and sweet treacle toffee developing. On the palate, stewed fruit leads to pressed apple and demerara sugar, with raspberry compote, soft white pepper and a hint of dried tobacco. The finish is full, with citrus and summer fruit.
