Refill sherry hogshead
A 49 year old Highland single malt from Glen Mhor, distilled in 1973 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection, Recollection Series 2. It comes from a single refill sherry hogshead, #85026801, and is bottled at 47.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The cask produced 170 bottles. Glen Mhor was demolished in 1983, and bottlings of it are now very rarely seen. The whisky is dark amber in colour. Stewed raisin, morello cherry and cocoa powder lead the nose, with treacle toffee, soft polish and mature oak. The palate offers orange zest, brown sugar, berry compote, baked apple and a hint of menthol. The finish is long and full, with lingering spice and citrus.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
