Glen Moray – 12 Years (70cl, 43%)

This is Glen Moray 12 Years, a Speyside single malt from a distillery just outside Elgin, close to the River Lossie. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The site was converted from a brewery to a distillery in 1897. Since 1999 Glen Moray has finished whisky in white wine casks, using Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. The distillery has belonged to the French group La Martiniquaise since 2008. Some drinkers pick out a grapey note in the house style, and it predates the distillery's work with wine finishes.
