Glen Moray – 2007 11 Years The Single Cask (70cl, 61.4%)

An 11-year-old Speyside single malt from Glen Moray, distilled on 22 November 2007 and matured in an ex-bourbon cask. The independent bottler The Single Cask bottled it on 17 April 2019 at a cask strength of 61.4%, in a 70cl bottle. The cask gave 208 bottles. The whisky is natural in colour and not chill-filtered, and the ex-bourbon wood brings a pronounced sweetness and a fruity character. The nose is soft and sweet, with melon, orange zest and wood shavings. The palate turns spicier, with nutmeg among sawdust, fruit peel, potpourri and fizzy sweets. The finish is long and recalls a well-made Old Fashioned.
