This is the 2023 Campbeltown Festival bottling from Glen Scotia, an 11-year-old single malt in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 54.7% ABV.
The whisky spent 11 years in bourbon casks, then a further twelve months in white port casks for its finish. Glen Scotia stands on the Kintyre peninsula in Campbeltown and was founded in 1832 by Steward, Galbraith & Co. as the Scotia Distillery.
The nose is warming and spiced, with stewed white peach, cloves, lemongrass and a slight mineral edge. On the palate come molasses, caramel, prune, fig, waxed wood and sandalwood spice, leading to a long, fragrant finish.
