Glen Scotia 12 Year Old Heavily Charred & Oloroso Casks is a limited edition Campbeltown single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 54.7% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The whisky is drawn from distillations of 2009 and earlier. It matured for eleven years in bourbon casks and American oak hogsheads, then spent a further twelve months in first-fill Oloroso casks and heavily charred American oak.
The nose brings toffee, apple, sea spray and soft vanilla. On the palate, creamy vanilla and brown sugar meet cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and nutty, with dried orange peel.
