This is a limited 12 year old single malt from the Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia, bottled at cask strength, 54.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It spent 11 years in first fill bourbon casks and American oak hogsheads, then a 12 month finish in first fill Oloroso hogsheads and heavily charred American oak barrels.
The nose offers salted caramel, creamy vanilla, stewed apples and salty sea air. On the palate come burnt sugar, sweet vanilla, warming cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and spicy, with dried orange peel.
