This Glen Scotia 12 Year Old is a seasonal release bottled at cask strength, 54.7%, in a 70cl bottle. It brings together unpeated distillations from 2009, matured in first fill Bourbon casks and American oak hogsheads.
After eleven years the whisky was finished for twelve months in first fill Oloroso hogsheads and heavily charred American oak barrels, then married before bottling.
The nose has maritime sea spray with light floral and orange citrus notes. The palate adds warmth, spice and the sweetness of melted brown sugar. The long, nutty finish carries peat and dried peel.
