Glen Scotia – 12 Year Old Seasonal Release Limited Edition Cask Strength (70cl)

This is a 12 year old cask strength single malt from Glen Scotia in Campbeltown, a limited seasonal release in a 70cl bottle. It brings together unpeated distillations made up to 2009. The whisky was matured in first fill bourbon casks and American oak hogsheads. After eleven years it was finished for twelve months in first fill Oloroso hogsheads and heavily charred American oak barrels, then married before bottling. The nose carries sea spray, and the palate shows warmth and spice with light floral and orange citrus notes and melted brown sugar. The long, nutty finish leaves pear and dried peel.
