This is a 15 year old single malt from Glen Scotia in Campbeltown, matured in American oak barrels and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 1832 as the Scotia Distillery.
The nose is medium-weight and sweet, with citrus peel, ginger snap biscuits and apricot that drifts towards fruit salad. The wood comes forward after a short time, and water brings out baked fruit.
The palate is drier than the nose suggests, and adding water brings out caramelised notes alongside the wood. The finish is firm and slightly dry.
